The Cannes film festival along with sundance and tribeca is one of the most important festivals for filmmakers, but what sets Cannes apart is that it is most certainly NOT just about the films. Of course, there is a fair amount of media coverage at sundance and tribeca but it is mainly from film publications, critics – film industry professionals. The Cannes film festival however could rival the Oscars if not more in terms of red-carpet coverage, celebrity appearances and of course fashion and jewelry showcase. I am not going to get into the usual morals behind the industry of how it’s a one major ad campaign, and it does well for the fashion and jewelry industry professionals but is yet another engine driving consumerism to a point of no return – it seems it is the only objective nowadays, which can cause distress, except I like to end my Cannes diaries on a high note and try to end my appearances with the AmfAR Cannes Gala.

Consumerism driven or not the cause is important for people across the World and is an event I take great pride to partake in as a donor and bidder and supporter

I was blown away by Marion Cotillard’s and Denis Menochets performances in Guillaume Canet’s film Karma, although I found that the extended version of the film might have been just a little too long. Although I walked the red carpet, I dashed right in because I was late and arrived at the same time as Marion, however I took my time at the Chopard Trophee Party showcasing my one of kind Hermes dress and Joy sandals, wearing vintage De Grisogono jewelry which was passed down to me by my mother, normally I try to wear Chopard at their events, but since there is a family connection between Caroline Sheufele and De Grisogono, I thought it was appropriate and I the Cartier Panther full diamond pave watch, which complimented the understated classic look perfectly.

The Chopard Gala is my favorite event at the Cannes Film Festival. It is the most elegant event I would say, it is quiet, it is private and always beautifully decorated and themed, this year Caroline Sheufele named it the Miracles Gala, and that it was. A beautiful showcase of Carolines Couture gowns adorned by Chopard high jewelry. Adriana Lima walked the show among other prominent models, and Bella Hadid graced us with her presence as the brand ambassador in an intimate setting. It was beautiful and made even more special by the incredible aerial and acrobatic performances throughout the gala dinner. For this magical evening, I chose a Retrofete dress paired with Aquazurra sandals and finished the look with a Valentino boa and clutch. Of course, I wore a Chopard jewelry – an evening l’heure du diamant watch and the famous heart shaped earrings from the Julia Roberts campaign in rose gold. However, I paired it with a beautiful heart shaped necklace with a 10 carat centre stone, yellow pear cut diamond ring and tennis bracelet by Jasre High Jewelry
